Your profile
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our fast-paced prototyping and development team. You will be designing, building and iterating on structural, cooling systems and mechatronic assemblies for our high-power microwave counter-robotics systems. This role is perfect for someone who can quickly iterate on ideas, has brought concepts to life from sketch to prototype, and is comfortable collaborating across multiple skillsets and engineering domains.


Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design of mechanical structures and components, thermal management, and mechatronic integration;
  • Simulation- and test-driven design, identify failure modes and rapidly optimise size, weight, and thermal performance of the systems;
  • Hands-on full lifecycle development from concept and prototyping to testing and iteration;
  • Produce clear technical documentation and ensuring designs adhere to standards;
  • Work cross-functionally to support system integration and field troubleshooting.


Requirements 

  • Proven experience as a mechanical design engineer;
  • Excellent proficiency with CAD modeling and FEA thermal simulation using tools such as SolidWorks or equivalent;
  • Experience preparing detailed engineering drawings and specification sheets to support manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance processes;
  • Experience with hands-on prototyping, iterative testing, and design refinement;
  • Experience developing and managing manufacturing processes;
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to make sure respective top-level systems decisions remain aligned throughout development;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
  • Future eligibility for NATO security clearance.


Desirements 

  • Some experience with other engineering fields (electronics, RF, software);
  • Portfolio of designs that you have worked on;
  • Experience working with PDM/PLM systems;
  • Aerospace/Defence domain experience.
